Prep Instructions
The time is here love. We get to meet! Maybe we’re meeting for a trial run or perhaps wedding morning - either way, we have to cover the prep I need you to have done before we arrive and call anyone to the chair. In order to have tamed hair and flawless skin, you have to kick this process off .𖥔 ݁ ˖
First things first - if anyone getting hair services haven’t had a haircut within 2 months - it’s time to get to your stylist (or me LOL) and freshen your hair up baby. This is crucial when creating the looks yinz want. I adore all the brides I’ve done that have allowed me to cut their face framing pieces out at their trial runs or on the day of. Sometimes face framing pieces just aren’t enough though to make sure the hair is styled to perfection.
Next, makeup services. We love glamming up you and your bridal party and glowing skin starts long before we show up on wedding morning. I can’t stress enough to importance of getting a facial (or 2) prior to wedding day. Especially if you have dry skin and are getting married in early spring / late fall / winter brides. I understand the cost this adds on, but a facial will give us those everlasting results we want! Also, take your happy self to TJMAXX and buy some face razors and go to town or allow me to shave the little fuzzies on your face off. Your makeup will lay smoother and increase the longevity of it. Don’t forget about your eyebrows! Tame ‘em or let me have at ‘em!
DON’T DO THESE
Let your hair air dry from the night before / morning of. Baby, your head sweats overnight and produces enough oil on your scalp that by the time we run a brush through it, we brush that oil down the hair stands causing your hair to not hold curl properly, look “greasy” and all over more difficult to style / hold a style. Yes, this goes for thick haired girlies too. We see it, we know it’s there and if I had a mobile shampoo station at weddings you best believe I’d be washing your hair LOL The risk of letting hair air dry the morning of is one it becomes extra lifeless or still wet in your nape section. When we bust out a hair dryer, this adds on more time to your timeline that sometimes won’t allow.
Come with an unwashed head. For the love of May, wash your hair baby - TWICE! I don’t want to hear “I only wash 3 times a week” or “My hairs so thick though”- that’s great, but this is your wedding. Your wedding day is 1000% different from any of your other days and it requires to do things differently - it’s that simple love.
Show up with previously curled or straightened hair. Stop right there - WASH. It is extremely difficult to put in a new curl pattern with a previous pattern in place along with products used still in the hair. If you want your hair straightened love, that’s why we’re on the way!
Have a spray tan without letting me know. We know when you have these (yes, even self-tanners) because your face and products won’t lie baby. There is risk of blotchy, patchy or separating of the makeup once applied after the skin prep is complete. This will have us wiping off what was laid down, reformulate and begin again.
DO THIS STUFF
Wash your hair the morning / day of and dry it. The old school way of thinking “dirty hair is better for styling” can be buried right next to regrets of not washing your hair LOL
Scrub those faces baby! There’s nothing better than a blank canvas - your skin must be clean & clear. Sensitive skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, oily skin, combo - soon you’ll be drenched in setting spray, looking like sunlight glistening off of the ocean.
Have your eyebrows done or allow us to shape them
PJ’s on or a shirt that can get over your head with ease. Contacts in if anyone is planning to wear them.
